Graduation Announcements and Party Invitations!

It's that time of year, when the many graduates, begin thinking about their future. In only a little over a month they will get their diploma and move on to the next step in life. But before you start that journey, you need to celebrate!!!

Selecting Baby Shower Invitations

A baby is such a miraculous thing. You want to be sure the baby shower is wonderful as well!

There are many things to take into consideration; date, theme, food, guest list, etc. But one of the major things is the invitation. This is what people will have on their fridge to remind them for a few weeks before. It will also go in the new baby's memory book and touch the mom-to-be deeply. It is one of the few things that will survive the shower many years down the road. This is why it is so important to choose the PERFECT invitation!

With so many choices out there, here are some tips for choosing the invitation:

1. Match the Theme - You want to be sure the flow of the party is perfect. With this in mind, make sure your invitation matches the theme of the event. If you are doing a polka dot theme, make sure your invitation is along those same lines.

2. Method of Delivery - There are so many ways to get the invitation to the guests. You can go more traditional and mail the invitation, or you can take the more modern route and email the invitation to the guests (provided everyone has a email account and knows how to open attachments). You want to be sure it is convenient for your guests. Because a lot of older guests (grandparents, great-grandparents, etc) do not have email, it may be better to stick with the traditional mailing route to ensure delivery to all the invitees.

3. Personalization - The invitation should be personal for the parents-to-be. Whether you do this with a photo (maternity photos and ultrasound photos work great for this option) or with the theme, make sure the party is catered towards the guest of honor! It will make it that much more special for her on that day as well as later!

So many themes, so little time!

Party planning is such a fun and exciting time. But it can also be quite stressful! It seems that no matter how long you think you have for planning a party, the deadline quickly sneaks up on you. Many times the theme choice takes up the most time in your planning stages. If you go with a normal theme, one where you can find everything you need at the local party supply store, it goes a bit quicker. But then again, who wants to be so "normal". Most of the time you want something a bit different than the "normal". You are looking for something unique and not overdone. Easier said than done! Even with the internet it seems that there are not many places to find unique designs for your occasion.

My next round of designs are going to be more party invitations, but I wanted to make sure I hit on those themes that people are having trouble finding items. I have found that a lot of the time, an invitation provides the perfect starting point for the rest of the party.

As a modern mother of one with another one on the way, I have found Etsy to be a great place to find fun, unique items. I have purchased everything from diapers to laptop bags on Etsy. The more I shopped the more I realized I was a perfect fit as a seller on Etsy.

I've been doing graphic design since high school. I have a freelance company Alexis Bennett Design and love doing work for companies and individuals, but have always loved designing invitations and announcements. Etsy is the perfect place for me to showcase this side of my work!

When I get a design idea, I create it and upload it for someone to fall in love with as well! I do a wide range of designs, mostly contemporary modern with a fun feeling! All of my designs can be customized with wording, colors and pictures (if applicable). I find inspiration in everyday things and have a great time taking any idea and making it a great design! I am constantly adding new designs!
